How we make world-class artificial grass.

Our manufacturing process combines advanced polymer engineering, precision extrusion, and Belgian craftsmanship. From raw material selection to final roll cutting, every step is controlled in-house to guarantee consistent quality, superior performance, and long-lasting beauty in every product we create.

Polymer selection: the foundation of quality

The performance and lifespan of artificial grass begins with one critical factor: high-quality raw materials. We carefully select premium polymers to ensure every product delivers exceptional strength, flexibility, and long-term resilience.

Why polymer quality matters:

  • Superior strength and durability
  • Consistent performance over time
  • Soft, natural feel and realistic appearance
  • Eco-conscious performance and extended lifespan

The right polymer selection directly impacts how your turf looks, feels, and performs for years to come.

Maximum UV-protection for long-lasting colour

Artificial grass is exposed to intense sunlight year-round, which is why advanced UV stabilisation is essential. UV stabilisers are added during production to protect fibres from sun damage, preserving both colour and structural integrity.

Benefits of UV-protection:

  • Prevents fading and discolouration
  • Reduces brittleness from sun exposure
  • Improves weather resistance
  • Enhances overall lifespan and cost efficiency

Our UV-protection ensures your turf stays vibrant, durable, and visually appealing—even in extreme conditions.

Artificial grass yarns

Yarn production through extrusion

When you use high-quality ingredients and a precision machine, the result is smooth, strong, and uniform. That’s exactly how our artificial grass yarn is made.

Low-quality extrusion, on the other hand, produces uneven, weak fibres that break down quickly under foot traffic and weather exposure.

How extrusion works:

  • Melting raw polymers with UV stabilisers and colour pigments
  • Forcing the mixture through precision dies to form fibres
  • Cooling, stretching, and strengthening the yarn

This process ensures every fibre is:

  • Strong and consistent
  • Smooth and uniform
  • Highly resistant to wear and weather

Poor extrusion leads to weak fibres that deteriorate quickly—something we never compromise on.

Yarn types: fibrillated and monofilament

Depending on the nozzle shape used during extrusion, two fibre types are produced:

  • Fibrillated yarn: features a honeycomb structure, offering a cost-effective solution typically used for sports and play areas.
  • Monofilament yarn: designed to replicate the look and feel of natural grass, often bundled together to form realistic piles for residential and landscape applications.

There are three types of polymers used to produce artificial grass fibres: polypropylene, polyethylene and polyamide.

At the inception of artificial grass, only polypropylene was used. Today, this plastic is still used but it is of slightly lower quality and found in cheaper types of artificial grass.

Polyethylene is commonly used for fibres found in artificial grass for residential applications. Polyamide is a type of nylon that, through exposure to weather and wind, absorbs moisture. This makes it more voluminous and thus pushes the main fibre straight as a crimped fibre.

Winding the fibres

Once extruded, the artificial grass fibres are wound onto large industrial bobbins. These spools are then transferred directly to the tufting machines for the next stage of production.

Tufting process for premium, realistic artificial grass

Tufting process: bringing the turf to life

Tufting is where grass fibres are inserted into the primary backing, forming the visible structure of the turf.

How tufting works:

  • Yarn bobbins are mounted onto racks
  • Fibres are fed through tubes into tufting needles
  • Needles perforate the primary polypropylene backing
  • Loops are formed and then cut
  • Cut loops become individual grass blades

This process ensures:

  • Uniform density
  • Strong fibre attachment
  • A realistic, consistent appearance

Every roll is inspected during tufting to eliminate defects and maintain flawless quality.

Durable coating for long-lasting, high-quality artificial grass

Coating process: strength, drainage and stability

To lock the fibres in place and enhance durability, a secondary backing is applied. This step strengthens the turf, improves drainage, and prepares it for installation.

Unlike many manufacturers, we foam our latex before application, delivering superior results.

Benefits of foamed latex application:

  • Deeper penetration into the primary backing
  • Even distribution across the surface
  • Improved flow around fibres
  • Stronger mechanical bond
  • Enhanced fibre pull resistance and stability

This advanced coating process significantly extends the life and performance of the turf.

Oven-cured artificial grass

Curing for maximum durability and performance

Our curing oven allows the latex backing to cure at lower temperatures for a longer time, delivering major performance benefits:

  • Improved polymer film formation
  • Prevention of thermal degradation
  • Reduced internal stress and better dimensional stability
  • Stronger adhesion between fibres and backing

This controlled curing process directly enhances durability, flexibility, and long-term performance.

Perforation for effective drainage

Once cured and hardened, each turf roll is precision-perforated to ensure excellent water permeability. This allows rainwater and cleaning water to drain efficiently through the backing.

Cutting and finishing

Artificial grass exits the production line as one continuous carpet and is then cut to standard roll sizes:

  • 4 metres wide at 25.5 or 30 metres per roll
  • Can also be halved into 2-metre widths

Each roll is inspected, finished, and prepared for shipping and installation.

A fully integrated Belgian production process

We control every stage of the quality, production, and distribution process, allowing us to deliver a 100% Belgian-made product with uncompromising standards.

From raw material selection to final roll cutting, every step is precisely engineered to ensure:

  • Superior durability
  • Consistent quality
  • Exceptional realism
  • Long-term performance in all environments
