Get the most out of your artificial lawn
GUIDELINES
Artificial grass is designed to give you a beautiful, low-maintenance lawn, a few simple tips can help you enjoy it even more.
Things to avoid
- Keep cigarettes, fire, and hot objects away—they can melt or scorch the grass.
- Only step on the grass with clean shoes free of mud or dirt. Avoid sports shoes with steel studs.
- Chewing gum and glass can damage your lawn. Chewing gum can be removed with ice or ice spray (ensure Freon levels are safe).
- Snow and ice won’t damage the grass, but frost can harden it. Avoid clearing snow until it thaws.
- Be cautious with shiny objects (mirrors, windows, decorative accessories) in full sun—they can magnify rays and burn the grass.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Loose leaves add a natural look, but remove large piles before they compost. Use a leaf blower, vacuum, broom, or plastic rake.
- Clean stains quickly: water is sufficient for beer, coffee, blood, and ice cream. For stubborn stains, use 3% ammonia solution.
- Brush non-infill types with a stiff broom to maintain the pile, especially long-pile varieties.
- Top up infill twice a year if needed, and rotate heavy equipment to prevent uneven wear.
- Remove weeds by hand (including roots) or with biodegradable herbicide on dry, sunny days.
- Repair loose seams promptly and contact your supplier if flooding occurs.
- Annual machine cleaning is recommended for lawns used for sports, this filters and redistributes sand.
Pet care
Artificial grass is pet-friendly. Remove waste as usual for hygiene. Slight odors can be managed, contact your supplier for advice.
Protecting high-traffic areas
- Use paving slabs under stepping points to prevent fibres from flattening.
- Move heavy equipment, such as football goals, slides, or outdoor furniture, periodically to avoid wear in one spot.
Weed, moss and treatments
Occasional weeds or moss can be treated with DIY products, but always perform a patch test first.

Enjoy your Namgrass! With proper care, your lawn will stay beautiful and functional for years to come.
